What will we learn?
We read all of the Houghton Mifflin stories in our 1.1 book in grade one.
The Houghton Mifflin worksheets we have made are used for reading practice and to give practice finding answers to questions. Students can then look, read and say vocabulary words in our pre-vocabulary video (click). Then students can look at and read the story online. This video has sound and you can hear a teacher read each sentence after you. Students are to read it. If the pace (speed) of the video is too fast, your child can pause (stop) the video and read at their speed (click).
You can read the book and use Kung Fu Punctuation. You should use the actions learned in grade 1. If you did not learn Kung Fu Punctuation actions please watch this video (click) Here is a sample story for you to read (click). If you do not know all of the actions please mail and let me know and I will put up a video showing you.
The last thing to do is the worksheet. If you have a printer, you can print this off and your child can do the worksheet. If you don't have a printer, your child can look at the PDF and write the words, questions and answers on a lined sheet of paper. When they are finished Mom or Dad can either take a photo and send it to me at Class Dojo.
If you have any questions at any time please feel free to mail me at Class Dojo or my email address.
